  • Mitford Church, open to visitors 2pm-4pm Tuesday and Thursday until the end of September.

  • Cragside, Rothbury (01669 620150). Open daily, except Mondays. Open Bank Holiday Mondays.

  • Wallington, near Cambo, West of Morpeth (01670 773967). Open daily 10am-5pm (House closed on Tuesdays). River walk and pathways close to or across farmland remain closed.



  • GARDENS & NATURE

  • Belsay Hall and Gardens, Belsay, West of Morpeth. Open 10am-6pm.

  • Kirkley Hall College, near Ponteland (01661 860808): College and grounds closed to the public during the foot and mouth crisis until further notice.

  • Bide-a-Wee Cottage garden and nursery, Stanton, Netherwitton (01670 772262).

  • Bolam Lake Country Park (01661 881 234), West of Morpeth.

  • Druridge Bay Country Park, Hadston (01670 760968) Open 10am-5pm.

  • Carlisle Park, Morpeth. Open all year round daily.

  • Scots Ghyll and Borough Woods Nature Reserve, Morpeth/Mitford (01670 514351). Scots Ghyll has re-opened but Borough Woods remain closed during the current foot and mouth crisis.

  • Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum (01670 519466) open Monday to Saturday, 10am-5pm.

  • Woodhorn Colliery Museum, Ashington (01670 856968). Open all year round Wednesday to Sunday (and Bank Holidays) 10 am-4pm.

  • Stamfordham Gallery (016616 234), Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 pm.
