RESIDENTS are being evacuated from about 20 homes in the High Stanners area of Morpeth.
And, as floodwaters continue to rise, Environment Agency officials have warned that hundreds more town centre properties could be at risk.

Firemen, council workers, Environment Agency workers and volunteers helped bale out a bed and breakfast at the end of Oldgate when water poured into the ground floor of the property.

Two severe flood alerts for parts of central Morpeth were issued just before 11.30am and more are being considered as torrential rain continues to fall.

In this video shot about Noon on Saturday and includes Environment Agency spokesman Ian Hodge warns residents to take extra care.
