Carlisle Park is often described as the 'jewel in the crown' of Morpeth.
And this year marks the 80th anniversary of its official opening.
As part of a celebration, a booklet about its history and use has been compiled by The Friends of Carlisle Park.
In this video, Brian Harle, from the Friends, explains how it began and what makes it such a popular asset to the town.
The film also includes some images from the Morpeth Herald's own archive.
