Bloom fans pray for a sunny time

RESIDENTS across Ponteland are hoping for success at the 35th Annual Parish Flower Show.

Most gardeners have experienced a very difficult time this summer, but organisers are hoping that the slightly better weather over the last few weeks will enable them to put forward decent entries.

Some great displays are guaranteed as there are sections in the show that are not weather reliant.

There are more than 120 classes in total, including flowers, vegetables, fruit, cookery, handicrafts, wine, photography and children’s.

The full show schedules are printed and are available from Ponteland Library and Post Office as well as from post offices in Belsay, Dinnington and Stannington and the library in Heddon on the Wall.

The show opens at 1pm on Saturday, with the awards ceremony at 4pm. Entry is £1 for adults, children are free.
