Flood plans hit by bad weather

THE Morpeth flood alleviation scheme has suffered another set back due to bad weather.

Councillors were due to discuss the proposals for town centre defences at the North Area Planning Committee in Alnwick tonight, with officers recommending that planning consent be granted.

However, the meeting has been cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions.
