Meeting to hear projects update

AN update on regeneration and community projects in Morpeth will be given next week.

The Stobhill Community Forum was set up in 2007 by local councillor Ian Lindley to take on various projects to improve the area.

Since then, the residents’ group has organised theatre trips, outings to the seaside, summer workshops for children, family shows and events, as well as bulb planting and litter picks.

Its main effort now is focused on advising and monitoring regeneration work for the area, which is being led by Northumberland County Council Adult Services.

The annual general meeting of the forum will take place on Monday, at 5.30pm, in The Community Link Shop in Shields Road.

Coun Lindley said: “We are making progress and this will be reported to the meeting on October 15. Please come along and discuss the plans we have to improve Stobhill. If you like what you hear, new members are always welcome.”
