New footpath to lead the way

A NEW footpath will make some features in Ponteland Park more accessible to the public.

The installation of a dipping platform, seats and some steps at Fox Covert Lane was carried out earlier this year, thanks to the Friends of Ponteland Park, which obtained some useful grants.

The adjacent area at the top of the steps is muddy and waterlogged and it was suggested that the town council should fund the construction of a path to enable people to have a much easier and safer route down to the platform.

Quotations had been received and members agreed to allocate £1,450 for the works, which will begin as soon as possible.
