THERE was a surprise in store for a Stannington family when they saw they were the stars of our Images of Yesteryear.

Both Jackie Robson and her mother Doreen got in touch to tell us more about the photograph featured on April 26 and to name those in the frame.

The image showed residents coming together to prepare their entry for the Best Kept Village category in Britain In Bloom awards 25 years ago – something they triumphed in twice.

Jackie is pictured sitting on the small tractor, while Doreen is standing beside her, wearing the dark tank top.

And the man third from the right is Eric Robson – Jackie’s dad and Doreen’s husband.

The others have been identified as, left to right, John Moray, Jo Dickson, Una Campbell, Sid Smith, Helen Steele, Duncan Campbell and Geoff Dimond.
