Plea for more Golf Day teams

AN annual fund-raising event for Morpeth’s business group has been re-scheduled – and more people are urged to take part.

The Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade Golf Day was due to take place in July, but had to be called off as torrential rain flooded the course.

Now 21 teams are expected to join in the re-arranged event next week, competing for a host of prizes to the value of £2,000.

However, the chamber is keen to involve even more competitors.

The cost per team is £235 and includes food and drink both on the course and in the clubhouse afterwards.

The business group is also appealing to its members to help out on the day with administration tasks, such as registering teams and collating information.

The Golf Day will take place at Morpeth Golf Club on Friday, September 14.
