Strolling out for charity

A COMMUNITY-spirited schoolgirl has stepped out with her pals to raise almost £300 for charity.
Thirteen-year-old Olivia Monkhouse, of Acklington, organised a sponsored walk around Druridge Bay lakes in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The challenge formed part of her Baden Powell badge in the 1st Widdrington Guide group and fellow Guides, Brownies and Rainbows all joined in the event to raise an impressive £293.
Olivia handed the cheque to Wilma Hunter from Macmillan, who was delighted to present the youngster with her well-earned badge in return.
