So in honour of the incredible work these special people do, day in and day out, we asked families across Northumberland to get in touch and tell their stories in tribute.

Annie Edgar: “All the midwives at Hillcrest and NSECH who helped me safely deliver my baby in December 2019. Invulable support and reassurance throughout pregnancy and birth.
“Special thanks to Carol French who was of Alnwick but now Berwick I think, who put me right at ease in my last couple of weeks and was quick to spot that I might need a little intervention to get baby out safely.”
Karen Hope: “Joyce Mowbray was the best midwife I had. Both my kids and I came back to Hillcrest and we were very well looked after.
