A magnificent musical line-up
The Deputy Mayor of Morpeth Richard Thompson with pupils from NECA, Hirst Park and Cramlington Learning Village, and Eileen Elliott Chairman of the Wansbeck Music Festival at the official opening of the event at St George's URC in Morpeth.
AN annual music festival is in full swing.
The Wansbeck Music Festival started with competitions for recorder and woodwind, and part two begins today with steel bands at Chantry Middle School, from 5pm.
School choirs will compete at Ashington YMCA tomorrow, and Morpeth Methodist Church will host advanced vocal and strings classes, from 6.30pm.
On Saturday, piano and vocal classes will be at St George’s URC in Morpeth, Sunday will be brass at Ashington YMCA, and the final concert is at St George’s at 6.30pm.
Tickets cost £2 per session, £3 for evening classes and the closing concert.
