DOES this photograph bring back any memories for Herald readers?

Warwick Robertson, who was born in Newbiggin, but now lives in Australia, is trying to find out more about his Morpeth roots and believes this image could be the key.

It shows his father Sydney Robertson, far right back row, with Syd’s younger brother Lawrence, back far left, and their youngest brother Stan in the middle of the front row.

All three were in the Morpeth Boys Brigade and it is thought Syd played the trumpet or cornet in the brigade band. Mr Robertson has found some old photographs from the brigade camps.

The brothers’ parents were Walter and Jean, or Jennie, who lived in Pretoria Avenue. Syd was born in Dacre Court before it was pulled down.
