CAROLLERS have been spreading some seasonal cheer across Northumberland.

In Morpeth crowds of people gathered at the Old Bakehouse Millennium Green off Oldgate last week as pupils from St Robert’s First School led the community sing-song.

The annual event was given some festive flair with Santa hats, while candlelight added to the warm atmosphere.

Then in Lynemouth on Tuesday dozens of villagers set off from St Aidan’s Church for a candle-lit walk around the area, singing carols and spreading the Christmas spirit as they went.
