Davids are on duty for new shop opening

A NORTH East hospice is planning a double celebration in Morpeth — and if your name’s David you could be on the guest list.

St Oswald’s Hospice will officially open its new shop in Bridge Street tomorrow, tying in with St David’s Day.

To mark the occasion any Davids from the area are invited to go along and take part in the opening of the shop.

The boutique-style outlet will sell good quality second-hand clothes, accessories, books, DVDs, CDs and household items, as well as a range of new goods, to raise funds for the hospice.

Retail Services Manager Andrew Moir said: “We’re thrilled to be opening a shop in Morpeth and to celebrate joining the community we’d like to invite any Davids in the local community to join us at the opening and to jointly open the shop in honour of St David’s Day.

“Meet us outside the shop at 9.45am on Friday — the more the merrier.

“The hospice needs to raise £6.5million each year towards its running costs. Buying items in our shops is a great way to show your support and guarantees us a regular income, helping us to continue caring for adults, young people and children across the North East.”

The shop opens at 10am.

Anyone wishing to volunteer should contact Dean Holliday on 07808 640308 or email volunteer@stoswaldsuk.org

To donate items drop them off at the shop or call 0191 246 8123.
