IT can be hard spotting a face in the crowd, but it was no trouble for Mary Farrell.
The Herald reader was browsing through the newspaper when she was surprised to see a picture of her brother, Brian Dickinson, in the Morpeth to Newcastle road race of January 1988.
The photograph was included in our Images of Yesteryear feature.
Mr Dickinson is pictured near the front, wearing number 632.
He now lives abroad, but Mrs Farrell has sent him a text to tell him about it.
“As soon as I looked at the paper I thought ‘that’s my brother’,” she said. “It was a great surprise to see the photograph and I can’t wait for him to see it himself.
“He did run regularly and used to do half-marathons and things like that. I don’t know anybody else in the picture though.
“My brother lives abroad now, but his family are still over here.”
