Highlight of the festive concert season

TWO villages will play host to a festive sing-song in a variety Christmas concert.

A Brassy Christmas will feature seasonal favourites alongside well-known tunes, played in a range of musical styles.

In all, 26 instruments will be used, with every member of the brass family from the tiny piccolo trumpet to huge bass tuba.

Multi-brass musician James Stretton and his pianist partner Iain Jackson promise to balance the silliness with reflective Christmas music – and audience participation is encouraged.

Middleton and Todridge Village Hall and Hepscott Parish Hall are partner venues of the Highlights rural touring scheme, which has organised the event.

It will take place on Friday in Hepscott and Saturday in Middleton and Todridge.

Middleton and Todridge Village Hall Promoter George Courtice said: “We have deliberately chosen a performance aimed at the whole family because we know how much people of all ages enjoy coming together to share an evening together.”

Hepscott Promoter Katie McDonald said: “We’re looking forward to something loud and lovely to get us in the festive spirit.”

Both concerts start at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £4 concessions at Hepscott, including a buffet. They are available on 01670 514031.

At Middleton and Todridge, they cost £7.50 for adults and £4 concessions, available on 01670 772600.
