IT’S a busy time of year if you’re a reindeer, so what could be better than a little retail therapy?

Trio Troy, Ella and Snowdrop enjoyed just that when they called in to Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade on Saturday.

And Santa’s friends were a big hit with shoppers as hundreds of families visited them throughout the day.

Children were able to feed the reindeer in their pen in the piazza area, with donations going to the arcade’s recently-adopted charity The Sick Children’s Trust.

Centre Manager Medi Parry said: “We were delighted to have the reindeer back at the centre last weekend. It was lovely to see the children being so excited to come and meet them. They are really gentle creatures and lovely to have at the arcade in the run-up to Christmas.”

The deer are owned by Richardson Garden Centre in County Durham, which started rearing them several years ago.

On Saturday the arcade will host The Jazzmen quartet.
