Journey to past

PEOPLE can take a journey into the past at the Northumberland History Fair.

Woodhorn Museum near Ashington will welcome heritage organisations from across the region to help visitors find out more about the region’s past and meet some of the people who explore and preserve it.

Among the groups will be representatives from Morpeth Antiquarian Society, which will have a stall.

There will also be the chance to chat to members of Northumberland and Durham Family History Society, The Mining Institute and the Architectural and Archaeological Society of Durham and Northumberland, among others.

Experts from Northumberland Archives will be on hand and there will be several stalls selling new and used books.

Younger visitors will be able to enjoy heritage-inspired storytelling and craft activities.

The event takes place on Monday, October 24, from 11am to 4pm.
