The was some mad hair and hats to be seen at Abbeyfield First School in aid of Comic Relief. Three friends in the pink!
SCHOOLS and businesses were painting the county red last week to play their part in Comic Relief.
There were red noses in abundance as fund-raising took place across Northumberland.
In Morpeth pupils and staff at Abbeyfields First School showed off wacky hair and mad hats, with plenty of fund-raising throughout the day and a special assembly, with lots of dancing.
Over at Chantry Middle School many of the pupils donned onesies in a non-uniform day and some baked cakes to sell.
Babies and toddlers did not miss out on the fun with a sing-a-long and red dress code at the Jo Jingles classes at Treasure Island in Coopies Lane.
In Ponteland the entire business community came together as Jane Henderson and Avril Taylor of Major Family Law went door to door with collection buckets.
They raised an impressive £350.
Pupils at Tritlington C of E First School made T-shirts while they learned about Africa, which they wore on Red Nose Day.
They also baked and sold cakes and biscuits.
The school’s Comic Relief fund-raising made a grand total of £120.50.
