Nail art or canvas, it’s all the same to Jenny
Morpeth beautician Jenny Clark.
A TALENTED nail artist is extending her creativity to canvas as she puts her artistic flair in the frame.
Painting customers’ nails with intricate designs is all in a day’s work for Morpeth beautician Jenny Clark.
But when she wants to relax between appointments, the former art student simply switches brushes and turns her hand to painting portraits instead.
The artwork is then put on display in her Pinky’s Nails studio at Austin House, Sanderson Arcade.
The 29-year-old, who also specialises in wedding make-up and threading, said: “I have always loved painting and the light is great in my salon so whenever I get time I try to fit some painting in. Sometimes I get ideas from pictures I see in magazines, but I’ve also been asked to do some commissions.
“I love doing nails and make-up and coming up with new ideas and designs and that’s something that has probably come from my love of art.
“Customers are always commenting on the artwork when they come in, which is lovely.”
Sanderson Arcade Manager Medi Parry said: “Jenny is really talented, both with nails and on canvas. We might have to find some new wall space for her paintings if she keeps going.”
