New events guide launches

VISITORS and residents can find out what’s on in Northumberland in a new events guide.

The publication has been produced by Northumberland County Council to detail the range of walks, shows, historical re-enactments, arts events, fetes and exhibitions taking place.

It also directs people to a dedicated website for the Olympic Torch Relay to find out where special events will be held.

County Executive Member for Tourism, Culture and Leisure Neil Bradbury said: “In Northumberland we are proud of our rich tradition of events and festivals.

“2012 will be a golden year for the county when we will host the Olympic Torch Relay and celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Whether you are a resident or a tourist, I am sure there will be something of interest in this guide.”

The guide is available from tourist information centres across the county, as well as online at www.northumberland.gov.uk/festivals
