No more cash from council for festival

A COUNTY music event has been turned down for a council grant.

The Wansbeck Music Festival, which holds several competitions in Morpeth, had applied for a grant from Morpeth Town Council.

However, members of the Finance and General Purposes Committee were told that their policy would not allow them to award the cash as the festival already receives a subsidy and a bursary from the authority.
