GARDENERS can pick up some unusual plants this weekend as a local gem opens its gates.
It is two years since Whalton Manor Garden welcomed the public inside for a plant sale, but on Saturday there will be another chance for people to view its beautiful features.
And not only will visitors be able to see the Lutyens and Jekyll designed garden, but they will also be able to buy some home grown plants, propagated from those in the garden and including unusual herbaceous perennials. Refreshments will also be available.
The garden will be open from 10.30am to 4pm.
Entry costs £3.50 for adults and is free for children. A donation from the proceeds will be given to St Mary Magdalene Church in Whalton.
