Have your say

THIS photograph from 1954 has partly answered the question of where the petrol pumps in Morpeth used to be located.

Hartburn resident and former Castle Morpeth Mayor Ernie Coe noticed this picture of Oliver Langton passing through the town on his motorbike during the Motor Cycling Club London to Edinburgh event in 1954 while reading this month’s The Classic Motorcycle magazine.

The pumps can be seen outside the former R Gibbon Motors outlet in Bridge Street. The buildings in the photo are now used by Louis Johnson Auctioneers, Estate Agents, Surveyors and Valuers, RPS estate agents, Treasure Room restaurant and takeaway and The Bridge Street Inn among others.
