ALL the fun of Comic Relief came flooding back for a Morpeth teacher with this Images of Yesteryear picture.

The photograph, showing pupils at Collingwood School making red noses in 1988, was re-published last month and Ann Young, who was Assistant Head at the time, immediately recognised her pupils.

She said: “This was the very first Comic Relief and the pupils made their red noses out of ping-pong balls. They loved it. We have done various things over the years, but this was the first one.”

The picture shows, clockwise, Ann-Marie Ferguson, David Purvis, Denise McAlpine, Brian Yearly, Wayne Thirtle and Keith Scott. Mrs Young cannot name the pupil at the back as he was only at the school a short time.
