MOST of the school football team featured in the Images of yesteryear section on February 16 have been identified, along with the local police officers.

Scott Neil got in touch to name his former team-mates at Chantry Middle School, who were pictured receiving a new kit from police officers in 1987.

The line-up is: Scott Macalister (holding footballs); front row, from left, David Robson, Gary Atkinson, Mark Cromar, David Hope, unknown; back row, from left, unknown, Scott Lawson, Scott Neil, Paul Horry, Andrew Tomlinson, Christopher Hogg and Paul Barker (keeper).

At the back is Chantry headteacher David Mitchell, pictured second left.

Mr Neil said the lads enjoyed playing for the school under the coaching of teachers Colin Slater and Richard Rackham. Around half of the team still live in the Morpeth area.

Former policeman Keith Lowery, pictured far right at the back, also contacted us to identify himself and his colleagues.

Presenting the footballs at the front is former Chief Superintendent Ian Hamilton. At the back is PC Martin Undeldorf, far left, and John Hope, standing next to PC Lowery.
