Students’ experiences aired to a wider audience
KEVI Student Voice Ambassador Kate Charlton, and Year 10 Student Leader Angus Kirk, thoroughly enjoyed being guests at Synergy Radio Station . The KEVI guests spoke live on the radio and were interviewed by John White who also leads KEVI Radio.
TWO Morpeth school students hit the airwaves to talk about their work and achievements.
King Edward VI School Student Voice Ambassador Kate Charlton and Year 10 Student Leader Angus Kirk thoroughly enjoyed being guests, along with Head of Student Voice, Leadership and Enrichment Victoria Najafi, at Synergy Radio.
They were interviewed by John White, who also leads KEVI Radio, as well as former KEVI teacher Steph Wilkinson. The trio spoke about the success of the school’s Student Voice and Leadership Programme, as well as what they have done outside school hours.
Kate’s highlights included her forthcoming Olympic Torch Relay run and volunteering role at the equestrian course.
Among the things Angus mentioned was winning the Amnesty International Young Human Rights Reporter of the Year competition last year.
The Bedlington-based community radio station, which operates from a professional-grade studio in a converted former British Gas showroom, has recently come to the end of its first 28-day temporary FM licence and is currently searching for the funding required to cover the next one.
