Have your say

HERALD readers have been asked for help in unlocking the secrets of this old photograph.

The image shows members of the No.2 WAAF War Training Course at Stannington’s RAF School of Administration in November or December 1941.

However, County Information Officer Stephen Lewins is keen to find out more about the group and the location.

He is keen to hear from anyone who knows where the school was and is also trying to find out whether the women were local.

Mr Lewins knows that a Betty Sparks and B O Turner are listed and both families lived and worked at the ‘settlements’ at the station. Were they connected?

Anyone with any information on the group can contact Mr Lewins at 28 Green Lane, Morpeth, Northumberland NE61 2HD, e-mail sslewins@hotmail.com or call 01670 511091.
