A MORPETH-based charity has scooped a top award for its work during the town's floods last year.
Volunteering Northumberland, part of Wansbeck CVS, held a celebration event at Longhirst Hall to mark the 25th anniversary of Volunteers' Week, a national campaign to celebrate the achievements of volunteers.
The night saw four awards given out and all those attending received certificates of thanks.
Contact, a Morpeth-based charity providing support to people with mental health conditions, scooped Volunteering Team of the Year for dedication in supporting the service during the Morpeth floods.
The event brought together more than 200 volunteers from across the County to thank them for the difference they make to their local communities and give them the red carpet treatment and a champagne reception.
