Two Morpeth Middle School pupils have raised almost £1,000 for charity.
Andrew Templey completed the coast to coast cycle ride and made £500 for North East Children's Cancer Research. Because he was impressed by Andrew's achievement, one of his Chantry School friends, Joe Saunders, asked his Head Teacher if he could organise a non-uniform day to raise further funds for the cause and made £442.

Andrew undertook the coast to coast ride as one of the challenges towards his Chief Scout Gold award, which he has now gained and will be presented at a later date.

The two pupils, who thanked all their sponsors for support, visited the children and teenagers' cancer treatment unit at the RVI, where they presented a cheque for the total amount to Sister Julie Guest and Staff Nurse Emma Shield.
