A MORPETH school's DVD full of food and fun starring a former Coronation Street actor will be launched on Saturday.
Ian Mercer teamed up with Chantry Middle School Cookery teacher Helen Moran to dish up a colourful presentation working step-by-step through eight recipes and they trawled Morpeth's shops to find the best ingredients.

The pair added plenty of humour by performing as 'Celia Iddleton' and 'Amanda de Bergrey' — who chatted about their husbands and gave advice to younger women.

The opening night for 'Two Ladies of a Certain Age' takes place at the school and to accompany it will be a fabulous fashion show.

The proceeds from the DVD filmed by J. Media Productions, which costs £6, will help pay for new school equipment such as sports gear and books for the library.

Tickets for Saturday's launch event from 7pm to 9.30pm are priced £3 for adults and £1.50 for children and can be purchased by calling Chantry Middle School on 01670 512874.

Food and drinks will also be available on the night.
