OLYMPIC fever hit Castle Morpeth vets as they completed their own fundraising triathlon.
Staff from the Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group took part in the challenge to raise cash for The Grass Sickness Charity, RABI and several small local animal charities.

The challenge, which took in all nine of the group's surgeries, including two in Morpeth and one in Ponteland, combined cycling, running and sea-kayaking.

Team members from every practice took part over three weekends, cycling from Wooler to Seahouses then kayaking to Amble, cycling to Alnwick, running between the two Alnwick branches, cycling to Morpeth then onto Ponteland and Rothbury, before ending with a 23-mile bike ride to the Glendale Show.

Around £2,500 was collected from their efforts.

Event organiser Pamela Girdwood said: "It has been fantastic for team-building and a great motivator for everyone to get fit this Summer.

"We are delighted that so many members of our staff decided to take part and we are exceptionally grateful to our customers that have supported us."
