Lynemouth teenager Natalie Johnson has good reason to celebrate - well, a dozen of them actually.
The Ashington Hirst High School pupil passed 12 GCSEs — and all of them were A* grades.

And her achievements included 100 percent marks in some of her Physics and Chemistry modules.

She said: "It was certainly quite a shock, I wanted straight A grades but I definitely wasn't expecting to get 12 A*s.

"If it wasn't for my teachers I wouldn't have got anywhere near my results as they did loads of revision sessions and always gave me help when I needed it."

Natalie will continue to study at Hirst High and will take AS Levels in Biology, English Literature, Chemistry and Maths.

"It was a hard choice to narrow it down to four, but these are my favourites and I like different things about them," she added.

Proud father Dave said: "Natalie has always been a star to us, but now she has proved just what a bright girl she really is. We know how hard she has worked and the whole family is delighted for her."
