Rock and roll at Belsay

Bank Holiday takes on a rock and roll flavour at Belsay Hall, near Morpeth.

The Castle and Gardens will be staging a 1950's style picnic weekend, complete with rock'n'roll dancers, 1950's food and fashions and a National Service drill Sergeant.

The event will be staged on Sunday and Monday, August 24 and 25 from 11am.

Picnic on the lawns and see costumed performers dance to jive and rock'n'roll. Visitors can bring their own picnic or sample themed food from the tea room as well as fashion and style of the decade. A National Service drill Sergeant will also be on hand to put young recruits through their paces - 1950's style.

The event is free for English Heritage members. Visitors can purchase tickets on the day and admission for non-members is priced at £6.50 for adults, £5.20 for concessions and £3.30 for children and £16.30 for families of four.
