STYLISH department store Rutherfords has been chosen as Morpeth's commercial entry for Northumbria In Bloom.
The decision has been made by Morpeth Town Council, which co-ordinates the local Bloom activities, following the store's long-standing support for the competition.
However, it faces a difficult task to live up to last year's entry when Heighley Gate Garden Centre won a gold medal and the Best Kept Premises award.
Town Council Clerk Gillian Turner said: "Rutherfords is a well-established family business and it is very supportive of the 'In Bloom' effort.
"Richard Rutherford himself is very supportive and he feels that the Bloom work brings people into the town. Most of those people would go to Rutherfords because it is a unique shop."
