A CAMBO couple have appealed to the public to be on the lookout for a beloved family pet which is missing.
Tuppence the tortoise, who was last seen in the garden of Clare and Paul Nicoll's home in the village at about 10am on Wednesday, May 7, has been with them for 28 years when they were given him and another tortoise, Tommy, by a family who no longer wanted them.

Clare said: "Tortoises are not the most interesting creatures but we have enjoyed having them and it is so sad Tuppence should now disappear after all the care and attention we have lavished on him over the years.

"He is well loved by our three children and two grandchildren so we hope he can be returned home."

The family have experienced this before as Tommy, who died two years ago, went missing when they lived near Malton in North Yorkshire.

But following an appeal he was returned and the Nicoll's are keeping their fingers crossed that history will repeat itself.

Anyone who believes they could have found Tuppence, or have seen him, should telephone Paul Nicoll on 01670 773601.
