HIGHWAYS officials have been called to a meeting with villagers to discuss road and pathway problems.
Parish councillors at Widdrington Station and Stobswood will point out broken footpaths along Grangemoor Road, as well as faults in Mile Road and The Gables.

Coun Jacqueline Bexfield said: "The pavement in Grangemoor Road is all broken away and it is a health and safety risk because somebody will fall down.

"Can we have a letter to Highways to re-do the footpath and have a look at the road?

"With the heavy opencast traffic the road has dipped."

Officers from Northumberland County Council will be invited to have a look at all the areas of concern.
