RUNNERS with places in this year’s Great North Run are being invited to raise funds for charity.
Action For Children already has 100 charity places in the half-marathon, but it hopes that independent runners may also help to raise funds.
The charity works with disadvantaged and vulnerable children across the UK.
Anyone signing up to support it will receive a running vest, training pack, goody bag, refreshments and a massage, while their friends and family can use the Action for Children marquee.
This year’s 13.1-mile race from Newcastle to South Shields takes place on Sunday, September 18.
