Aim for the Royal seal

MORE Northumberland groups could gain the Royal seal of approval as nominations are invited for the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

The honour, which is the equivalent of the MBE for volunteer organisations, has previously been presented to Morpeth Lions Club and Contact Morpeth Mental Health.

Even more groups are set to be recognised next year in the awards’ tenth anniversary and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.

However, nominations must be submitted by Friday, September 30.
