USERS of a new athletics track are to have an enhanced changing block.
The track at Morpeth King Edward VI School was approved in 2010 for students during the day and the local community out of school hours.
An application by Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure to replace the old block with a slightly larger building, in blue-grey brick with a brown tiled roof, was approved by the county Planning and Environment Committee last Tuesday.
The old building will be demolished by hand in case any bats are roosting there.
Councillors also agreed that the track could be fenced.
