THE following planning applications have been submitted to Northumberland County Council.

Longhirst: Mr Chris Gill, Longhirst Village Hall, trees in a Conservation Area, crown raise horse chestnut by 4m, prune lawson cypress by 1m, reduce crown of lime by 30 per cent and fell birch.

Mitford: Irene Anderson, land east of Molesden Burn, East Molesden Cottages, Molesden, prior notification, single wood transformer pole to provide electricity to flood defence scheme; Mr John Vowell, Site 2, Seaton Ryde, Tranwell Woods, construction of a single detached dwelling.

Morpeth: Mr Gerry Eskdale, land west of Somersby Wood, Great North Road (south), Tree Preservation Order, crown reduce one beech by 50 per cent and remove all deadwood from crown; Mr Rowland Nicholson, 6 Wansbeck Place, two storey extension to rear; Mr and Mrs Richard and Laura Lane, land adjacent to 6 The Dell, proposed new house; Mr Kash Pandya, Somersby Grange, Somersby Wood, construction of a car port over existing car turning area; Mr David Patterson, 4 Sweetbriar Close, Lancaster Park, bedroom/en-suite/dresser over garage and ground floor alterations and extensions.

Thirston: Mr DR and DT Brown, land north of Eshott Airfield, installation of 200 solar photovoltaic panels to generate electricity; Mr Craig Wade, former Builders’ Yard, East Thirston, non-material amendment to application 13/01837/FUL (addition of rooflight to south).

Whalton: Mr and Mrs Neil Elborn, Howburn House, installation of 16 photovoltaic panels to south facing roof; Mr Jonathan Todd, The Stables, Lynn Law Farm, Listed Building Consent for the improvement of the thermal insulation, enlargement of an en-suite shower compartment, addition of an internal stud partition, removal of oil burning boiler and installation of an external oil boiler.
