Author Barbara Fox will be signing copies of her new book, When The War Is Over, at Waterstones in Morpeth on Saturday.
The book is about the wartime experiences of her mother Gwenda, who was evacuated to Morpeth and later the Lake District during the war.
Gwenda was just five when she was evacuated with her older brother to Morpeth at the start of the war. They returned to their home in Newcastle a few months later but the following summer were evacuated once more, this time to a tiny village in the Lake District where they spent three years with the local schoolmaster and his wife.
Gwenda, the star of Barbara’s first book Bedpans & Bobby Socks, will join her daughter at the book-signing.
