NOMINATIONS are now being sought for the fourth annual Northumberland Business Awards taking place in November.

And NBSL (Northumberland Business Service Ltd) is once again the main sponsor.

The awards, organised by Northeast Press, recognise businesses across a range of activities, with categories for Overall Business of the Year, Training Award, Entrepreneur of the Year, Business in the Community, Green Business of the Year, Keep it Local, Outstanding Contribution Award, Technology Award, Best Business Start-up and Export Award.

The event will culminate with a grand final at Linden Hall, near Morpeth, on Thursday, November 17.

NBSL chief executive officer Phil Langton said: “NBSL is proud to once again be the main sponsor of the Northumberland Business Awards 2011. Events such as this are really important in both recognising and celebrating the success of our local businesses.

“It is essential that Northumberland’s private sector economy, in particular new and smaller businesses, are supported to become more competitive, and that they create new jobs for the local economy.

“The awards ceremony will highlight those successful businesses and prove that Northumberland is a great place to do business.

“NBSL helps people to start up new businesses. We help them think through their business ideas, develop their skills and develop their business plans. We are continuing to support more than 600 new businesses start a year, and I hope some of them will put themselves forward for recognition.

“NBSL also supports and funds more than 1,000 existing businesses a year through the North East Regions Leadership and Management programme.

“This programme helps strengthen business owners’ leadership and management capabilities and hopefully we will see some of them at the awards dinner.”

Northumberland Business Awards 2011 is supported by the Morpeth Herald and our sister titles the News Post Leader, Northumberland Gazette and The Berwick Advertiser.
