Morpeth Flower Club

This picture was taken when Vivien Bennett, Chairman of Morpeth Flower Club, handed over a cheque for £200 to Stephen Hudson, of Northumbria Blood Bikes.

Blood bike volunteers deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies out of hours between hospitals and laboratories.

The donation was the money from the tombola that the flower club ran at its open evening in April.

The club meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month, at 7.30pm, in St James’s Centre, in Wellway, Morpeth.

Visitors are always welcome to come and enjoy a floral demonstration, followed by tea and biscuits, along with a friendly chat.

The group’s next meeting will take on a festive flavour in the form of a Christmas demonstration.

Titled “When The Tree Tops Glisten”, it will be given by Vanessa Wellock, on November 25.

Anyone wishing to join the group, or to find out more about it, should contact Marjorie Holt on 01670 513336.
