Banking review

A REVIEW of banking arrangements will be carried out by Morpeth Town Council.

A working group has been set up by the authority’s Finance and General Purposes Committee to look at a variety of issues and find out if the council is getting the best service available.

The group, made up of members Richard Thompson, Nic Best and David Parker, will consider a number of criteria, such as interest rates, viability of the bank, its ethical stance and convenience of services.

The review is expected to begin after the council’s budget has been decided in the New Year and will focus on the well-established banks.
