WEDDINGS will return to a former chapel after it was granted a licence for civil ceremonies.
The Reading Rooms at Eshott formerly served as the village chapel and has now come under the ownership of luxury hotel Eshott Hall.
After a recent refurbishment the building was given a new lease of life as a business venue, and now it can be used as an integral part of weddings at the hall, with seating for up to 80 people.
Hotel Manager Annabel Garven said: “Considerable time and effort has been spent restoring this lovely building and we are delighted it has been granted a licence to perform civil ceremonies.
“It is truly unique and I know that many brides will want to arrive at the Reading Rooms on foot down the tree-lined drive from Eshott Hall, or in a suitable vintage car, as it really will add to the overall atmosphere of the wedding.
“After the ceremony, the happy couple can then return to the hotel followed by their entourage of guests and wonderful memories of a very special ceremony.”
