The Anarchy Brew Company is raising a glass in celebration after announcing exciting expansion plans.

The Morpeth-based business is investing in the brewery to continue to develop new, exciting, award-winning craft beers in bottle, keg, cask and can.

It follows a succession of awards, most notably for its flagship stout Sublime Chaos, and seeing demand rocket.

Established in 2012, the company is based at the Whitehouse Farm Centre near Stannington, and was set up by local entrepreneurs Simon and Dawn Miles.

Mr Miles said: “We need to continue with our investment programme to meet the increasing demand for our beers and to ensure that product quality remains the key focus of our business.

“We’ve invested in eight new vessels, together with a production line, which will increase capacity and production.

“Barclays has provided a loan, which will provide the flexibility for us to continue on our growth journey.”

The company employs nine staff and turnover is expected to rise by 40 per cent this year.

Jane Brown, Barclays Business Banking Manager, said: “I have been working with Simon and Dawn for some time now to see how we can support their growth and provide the facilities to take them to the next exciting chapter for the business.

“The funding deal will provide them with more flexibility for their expansion plans and I am confident we will see this business going from strength to strength.

“With craft ales going mainstream, the business is well placed to succeed.”
