BUDDING entrepreneurs will be put through their business paces as they try to sell products following the launch of an enterprise challenge last week.
The Alnwick Garden Enterprise Challenge is designed to provide young people in Northumberland with an exciting opportunity to build their entrepreneurial skills, work as a team to develop a business strategy and have a taste of the business world.
The challenge was open to 13 to 19-year-olds from Northumberland County Council schools, and encouraged the young people to develop their business acumen and creativity to sell products for the highest profit.
The Garden offered stock from its gift shop and a small amount of start-up money to each of the groups, including teams from Collingwood School in Morpeth and Ponteland High School, who must now sell those products in as many imaginative ways as they choose to make the most profit and win a prize for their school.
The profits from the sales will be returned to The Alnwick Garden Trust to be donated to one of its many charitable projects.
A prize-giving celebration will take place on Thursday, December 8.
