TWO Northumberland legal businesses have rubber-stamped a merger that has created the largest independent law firm based entirely in the county.

Alderson Dodds and Wholley Goodings solicitors will operate from existing offices in Morpeth and Blyth.

The new firm – called Alderson Law LLP – retains the existing partners and staff of both businesses, including Richard Wholley who was a founder member of Wholley Goodings.

It has 12 qualified solicitors assisted by a team of experienced legal and administrative staff.

Guy Goodings, whose main areas of practice are family law, wills and probate and civil litigation, said: “The merger is an exciting development which will bring together a wide spectrum of specialist legal expertise. Individuals and businesses in Northumberland and beyond will now be able to have all their legal requirements met by one local law firm – there will be no need to contact more than one firm to deal with all aspects of legal advice.

“Alderson Law LLP will continue the high standards and reputation that both Alderson Dodds and Wholley Goodings have built over many years and the quality marks awarded including Lexcel, the Conveyancing Quality Standard and the Solicitors Quality Mark.

“Excellent service and dedication to clients will continue to be provided through a friendly, personal and professional approach.”
